Aluminium 1100 is primarily composed of pure aluminium, with a minimum of 99% aluminium content, which is the key to its characteristics. This high purity gives the alloy excellent corrosion resistance and high thermal and electrical conductivity. Mechanically, it offers good ductility and workability, making it easy to form, though it is considered a commercially pure grade with moderate strength. It is not heat-treatable, so its strength is achieved through strain hardening, resulting in a reliable and predictable material for forging processes.
